Jay Ajayi: Eagles should have run more vs. Vikes

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz celebrates with wide receiver Alshon Jeffery after they combined on a 16-yard touchdown pass against the Tennessee Titans in the second half of an NFL football game Sunday Sept. 30 2018 in Nashvill

They got after Wentz with just over nine minutes to play, stalling Philadelphia's drive at Minnesota's 45-yard line before handing things back to the offense to burn off six and a half critical minutes in the fourth quarter with a 20-14 lead. In the last two games, including Sunday's game against the Vikings, Wentz has been sacked 12 times and fumbled three times.

With the Vikings looking for a spark in the running game, Thomas got some early action after playing sparingly early in the season.

Now the Eagles (2-3) have lost two games in a row for the first time since 2016, which was the previous time they had a losing record.

In a league with as much parity as the modern NFL, these shortcomings and mistakes separate a good team - or a great team, as the Eagles were last season - from a mediocre or poor one.

The other came on a 62-yard fumble return by defensive tackle Linval Joseph and kicker Dan Bailey made 3-of-5 field goal tries.

Channing Tatum Is Dating Jessie J After Jenna Dewan Split
We won't be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family's privacy. We learned on Wednesday Channing Tatum had finally moved on from Jenna Dewan .

While the Vikings would love to not throw the ball as much and get their running game going, it certainly helps when you have a quarterback like Cousins when the run game isn't working.

Carson Wentz and the rest of Philadelphia's offense again had trouble converting in the red zone and on third down, even after the defense gave them a flawless opportunity to take a lead.

"We have to take a real hard look in the mirror", Wentz explained. I want to be the best. They lost because, sometimes when their offensive line did protect Wentz, he held the ball too long.

The loss of Ajayi, who becomes a free agent after this season, is another major blow for a team that has struggled to score points in its first five games. "Little mistakes like that - really, the same thing happened last week".

In short, Team Captain Joseph lead by example, and was given a game ball in the locker room by Vikings' head coach Mike Zimmer, who knew how important Joseph had been to this win as well as how important the win was to this team. That's when Latavius Murray notched 27 of the drive's 55 yards. Kirk Cousins completed 30 of 37 attempts for 301 yards, but the pressure was there and he was simply sensational. Thielen has 49 catches this season for 599 yards, the most ever for a Minnesota player after five games. "Maybe there were some runs I'd like to get back, but I think I did my part in helping this team win". "A lot of times he probably can't even see us, but he trusts us as receivers to get open because that's our job". Just like he showed in his debut, the young signal made sure to use his legs to pick yards and extends plays. The Eagles did eventually score to put 21 points on the board, but it wasn't enough to beat the Vikings as Minnesota recovered an onside kick to ice a 23-21 win. I wouldn't say we are an undisciplined group.
