Kyrgios ousted in Shanghai Masters

Nick Kyrgios's effort is under the microscope again after an umpire suggested a point during his first-round Shanghai Masters defeat was "really borderline".

Speaking in Shanghai, where Federer is the top seed and reigning champion, the 37-year-old Swiss great called Kyrgios "a great player". Dumusois then underlined to Kyrgios what he exactly meant: "You know exactly what I meant, Nick.

I don't want to talk about that any more".

The talented but erratic Kyrgios has played in Shanghai four times with his best showing being two second-round finishes.

Kyrgios reacted by saying "I don't care" and told the official "you have no right to tell me that it's poor".

He was fined previous year after walking off the court during his first-round match.

Added Federer: "He can win bigger tournaments and do all these things".

Raonic and Kyrgios were both ousted in three sets by Mackenzie McDonald and fellow American qualifier Bradley Klahn respectively, but 10th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas was able to progress courtesy of a 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-4 success over Gael Monfils.

Vikas Bahl Accuses Anurag Kashyap, Motwane of Defamation
However, the piece was also critical of Mr Kashyap's way of handling the matter, including the delay in calling Vikas Bahl out. Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) also sent a show cause notice to Vikas Bahl on Tuesday.

"But there is still a process in place that he needs to do like any other player needs to go through in order to be successful".

Kyrgios lost five games straight from 4-all in the second set.

Last month umpire Mohamed Lahyani was suspended from his next two scheduled tournaments after trying to encourage Kyrgios during a match at the US Open.

In that game, in which the un-seeded German dismantled Kyrgios in just 48 minutes, Kyrgios appeared to walk off court before Zverev had completed his service game, leading to a chorus of boos.

Kyrgios made no initial public comment after his defeat by qualifier Klahn, but has previously spoken of his intent to learn from Federer.

He said Kyrgios looked "tired and jaded" at this stage in the season and that brings out the worst in him.

"I have improved a lot since a year ago physically, mentally", said 10th seed Tsitsipas.
