The nominees for the 2019 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced, and the artist list includes Def Leppard, Rage Against the Machine, MC5, Radiohead, the Cure, Todd Rundgren, John Prine and more.

It's been a long time coming for Def Leppard. There are some nominees that have been around through multiple cycles as well, including four-time nominee LL Cool J.

Now is your chance to have a role in deciding which act is enshrined in rock "n" roll's hallowed halls. The 2019 ballot, released earlier this morning, snubs classic heavy metal bands: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Slayer and Pantera are among the artists who are eligible, but not included. Between now and December 9 at 11:59 P.M. Eastern, you can go to their website once per day and make your selections.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame notes on their website that "the top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a "fans" ballot' that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2019 inductee".

To be eligible, of course, the nominees' first single or album must have been released before (and including) 1993.

The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were: Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Cars, Nina Simone, The Moody Blues and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
