Well, that's what it's like between Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.

Their friendship was taken to the next level over Bruno Mars' 33rd birthday this weekend, however, as Sheeran was recruited to do the honors of serenading him with "Happy Birthday" for the celebration.

Bruno Mars turned 33 today, and the Grammy Award victor spent the day getting serenaded by a special someone: Ed Sheeran.

Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks Lead 2019 Hall of Fame Nominees
Def Leppard and Nicks earned their first-ever nominations, although Nicks was inducted in 1998 as a member of Fleetwood Mac . There are some nominees that have been around through multiple cycles as well, including four-time nominee LL Cool J .

Mars shared the video on Instagram, sporting his trademark sunglasses and a gold birthday hat, all while he enjoyed several cup cakes which spelt the word "BRUNO" and Ed sang happy birthday.

The arena's social media team posted a photo of cupcakes, balloons and party favors on its Instagram Monday night. Back in 2015, Mars started a faux-Twitter war with the "Perfect" singer after he got jealous of Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift's Twitter spat over the MTV Video Music Awards. Sheeran, who in August hinted at an upcoming musical project with Mars, obliged. Let us know in the comments section, below.

However, this wasn't just any old sing-song - Ed does things differently - as the Shape of You singer switched up the lyrics.
