"I'm glad I look good for my age, but I've had plastic surgery", admitted the 80-year-old in a new HBO documentary about her life, titled "Jane Fonda in Five Acts", as reported by People Magazine Thursday.

The Oscar-winning actress says that she got plastic surgery around her eyes and jawline because, she says, she 'got exhausted of looking exhausted when I wasn't'. "But that image is there and I will go to my grave regretting that. I did it because I got exhausted of walking down the street and catching myself in a window, looking exhausted - and I didn't feel that way". Along with this admission, Jane also expresses a little regret of getting so much work done.

"I wish I was braver", the star remarked, but she is what she is. I love older faces. Moreover, Jane stated her admiration of Vanessa Redgrave's appearence, arguing that she had a attractive "lived-in face". "But I am what I am". "I'm two years older than my dad [Henry Fonda] was when he died", a then 77-year-old Jane told The Guardian.

According to the long-time Hollywood star, she had bags under her eyes so she had work done to them as well as her jawline so she could feel more comfortable with her body.

As you may know, people in the entertainment industry often get plastic surgery to ensure their looks don't fade, that way they can continue to get roles created for younger people. "I wish I were courageous enough to not do plastic surgery but I think I bought myself a decade".

Fonda has spoken publicly about her plastic surgery in the past, particularly about women using surgery for unhealthy reasons.

The former CBS co-anchor came under fire previous year after several women who worked with him alleged a pattern of sexual misconduct, including groping and walking naked in front of them. "I can feel it marinating", she says.
