Graham praises hurricane efforts after Trump call

Oddly, the closer Hurricane Florence gets to land the murkier its future gets.

The warning was issued on Wednesday by the UAE Embassy on its Twitter account.

Amazing, yet terrifying video from a plane flying into the eye of Hurricane Florence, takes a look inside the Category 4 storm that's barreling towards the US East Coast.

This enhanced satellite image shows Hurricane Florence off the eastern coast of the United States on Wednesday. Promptly follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials.

Florence's expanse has even captured the attention of the astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station, who have been tweeting pictures of the storm back to Earth.

Landfall is expected late Thursday or early Friday, and the National Hurricane Center fears the storm "will slow considerably or stall, leading to a prolonged and exceptionally heavy and risky rainfall event Friday-Sunday".

The Miami-based NHC stressed, however, that while a slow weakening is expected over the next 24 hours "Florence is still forecast to be an extremely risky major hurricane when it nears the USA coast late Thursday and Friday".

More than 1 million people have been ordered to evacuate the coastlines of the Carolinas and Virginia.

"Get out of its way, don't play games with it, it's a big one, maybe as big as they've seen", Trump said.

"These storms can be very disruptive to regional economies, and it takes time for them to recover", said Ryan Sweet, an economist at Moody's Analytics.

The NHC said the first tropical storm-force winds of at least 39 miles per hour (63 kph) would hit the region early on Thursday with the storm's centre reaching the coast Friday.

Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall between Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Wilmington, N.C., and from there it could turn any direction, said Kip Bricker, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service at Jacksonville International Airport.

"Do you want to get hit with a train or do you want to get hit with a cement truck?" said Jeff Byard, an administrator with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The six-foot, 191-pound Swede was selected by the Senators with the 15th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Karlsson is a two-time Norris Trophy victor and led or tied the Senators in scoring the past five years.

"It's going to be bad", said Woody White, a county commissioner.

Duke Energy, the nation's No. 2 power company, said Florence could knock out electricity to three-quarters of its 4 million customers in the Carolinas, and outages could last for weeks.

Across the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia, businesses are bracing for the economic damage Hurricane Florence is expected to inflict on the area.

"The state is mobilizing all available resources to ensure public safety ahead of Hurricane Florence", Deal said.

Emergency declarations were in force in Georgia, South and North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Florence has been downgraded to a category two storm, but other risks remain for the Cape Fear area.

In Wilmington, Solange Iliou Thompson closed down her restaurant, Indochine, because all of her employees had left the city.

She has no regrets about staying then but enough is enough. "The building's solid and Buddha will protect us".

"I'm concerned. Maybe not too anxious, but what are you going to do about Mother Nature?" We are prepared considering what we went through two years ago.

"Everything is packed", Espinoza said.

"We're just trying to plan for the future here, not having a house for an extended period of time", David Garrigus said.

About 300,000 people have been evacuated from South Carolina, McMaster said. It urged residents to heed evacuation orders.

"Life-threatening flash flooding is possible with Isaac".
