Gatwick Airport CHAOS: Flight information boards go down creating nightmare for passengers

Some passengers missed flights as staff took to writing flight information on white boards

Being in the entrance way of the departures it got incredibly busy, people were agitated, yelling for them to tell them their flight info and to get more boards for the South Terminal.

The screens reportedly stopped working at 2am and were still not functioning at 9am.

Gatwick Airport had to post flight information on white boards on Monday after its ts digital screens failed due to an IT glitch.

The malfunctioning caused a "handful" of people to lose their flights, Metro quotes the airport saying.

Photos shared on social media show travelers crowded around airport employees who are handwriting departure information on the temporary flight boards. "This is a top priority for us", it said.

Chelsea leave nervous Sarri craving a smoke
This is always the way, but it is clear that defensively we suffered three goals but also we had chances to do more goals. Speaking after the win, Hazard said : "Everybody knows what I have said after the World Cup".

The error, which also led to the disappearance of flight information from Gatwick's website, was blamed on the airport's IT provider, Vodafone.

A Gatwick spokesman blamed an "ongoing issue" with Vodaphone, which provides IT services for the airport.

Gatwick airport was plunged into chaos today when staff were forced to use old-fashioned whiteboards to direct thousands of passengers towards flights.

Some 45.6 million passengers travelled through Gatwick Airport previous year, according to statistics from the Port Authority of NY and New Jersey.

"Gatwick would like to apologise to any passengers affected and expects Vodafone to resolve the issue as soon as possible", Gatwick, London and Britain's no.2 airport behind Heathrow, said in its statement.
