Sprint announces that its first 5G phone will come from LG

Sprint and LG said they expect to release the market's first 5G phone though the companies offered little in the way of details

Sprint only says the LG device will be a beautifully-designed advanced 5G smartphone capable of offering blazing fast speed and ultra-reliable wireless.

Sprint said it will launch the country's first mobile 5G network in the first half of next year.

The company did not reveal any other specifications for this device, or an exact launch date.

Last month, Sprint introduced new unlimited wireless plans bundled with video streaming platform Hulu and music streaming service Tidal, in an effort to attract more customers with media content. The new LG smartphones promises to deliver, thanks to the 5G connectivity.

When you buy your 5G LG phone it will connect to Sprint's 5G network wherever available.

Since the launch is scheduled to take place in the first half of 2019, we reckon it will be the successor to the LG G7 ThinQ.

Jeremih Posts Shady Instagram Post Responding To Teyana Taylor

"LG has been working side-by-side with Sprint for almost 20 years, and we are looking forward to expanding this partnership with 5G", said William Cho, LG Electronics North America President and CEO.

Sprint and T-Mobile are now working to persuade antitrust regulators to approve their merger, which would combine the nation's fourth-largest and third-largest wireless carriers, respectively.

"LG has been working side-by-side with Sprint for almost 20 years, and we are looking forward to expanding this partnership with 5G", said William Cho, LG Electronics North America President and CEO.

The race to enable 5G networks is on among carriers and manufacturers, as the technology is a huge step toward the future of the internet.

Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. will receive Sprint's 5G mobile network. The mod will be powered by its own battery, so that the Moto Z3 will not suffer from short standby times. During tests earlier this year Sprint's 5G network achieved download speeds of 100 Mbps, compared to just 8 Mbps for LTE networks.
