YouTube Pulls Terrifying ‘The Nun’ Teaser Trailer For Violating Company Policy

The Nun

You might not be able to watch the trailer for the horror movie The Nun on YouTube anymore, but the new worldwide poster is here to creep you out and tide you over in until the film hits theaters.

One user tweeted an alert about the jump-scare and warned to turn down the volume if one happens to have anxiety, which went broad with 135,000 retweets and over 148,000 likes.

However as an advertisement, this movie ad for "The Nun" would appear at the front of YouTube videos with no warning as to what will be shown. In fact, the movie's recent YouTube ad has been pulled from the streaming service due to the promo's jump scare being so frightening that it led to a wave of complaints and a violation of YouTube's policy. This video does not auto play.

The face of "the nun", her demonic green eyes bulging, jumps onto the screen with a crash of scary music that has been likened to a scream. You can watch it here if you dare.

China has prevented 'great tragedy' in Xinjiang, state-run paper says
Beijing has long denied the existence of such camps, and has made no comment on the latest allegations. It said they were poorly fed, and reports of torture were widespread.

YouTube quickly responded to the user, where they shared that the video violated their shocking content policy and that they would be taking it down.

"We value diversity and respect for others, and we strive to avoid offending or shocking users with ads, websites, or apps that are inappropriate for our ad network", the policy states. There's also a link to YouTube's "violent and shocking content in ads" page, including "Gruesome imagery", "Gratuitous bodily fluids or waste", and "Promotions that are likely to shock or scare".

The Nun is the fifth installment to the horror film franchise and is a spin-off to the film The Conjuring 2.

The Nun stars Demian Bichir as a priest named Father Burke and Taissa Farmiga as a novitiate, Sister Irene.

Said to include "very little CGI", Corin Hardy and Co. will officially summon The Nun into theaters on September 7th.
