Parker Solar Probe Instigates on an Epic Journey to Touch the Sun

Hours prior to the escalation of the very star it will scrutinize NASA's Parker Solar Probe instigated from Florida to commence its journey from the Sun where it will tackle a milestone in mission.

The Probe, a robotic spacecraft the size of a small auto, was launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida, for its planned seven-year mission.

The initially scheduled launch was on Saturday, but it was delayed several times and then rescheduled on Sunday.

The probe, named after American solar astrophysicist Eugene Newman Parker, will have to survive hard heat and radiation conditions.

The Science of the Sun Flying into the part of the Sun's atmosphere known as the corona for the first time and will employ four instrument suites created to study electric and magnetic fields, plasma, and energetic particles, as well as image the solar wind. According to NASA website, it is managed by the agency's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington, D.C. The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory implements the mission for NASA.

China Is Sending a Trade Envoy to Washington Amid Tariff Dispute
Since those talks ended, the USA and China have been locked in a trade standoff as they slapped tariffs on billions of dollars of each other's goods.

The probe will travel through the corona of the sun where temperatures are greater than a million degrees Fahrenheit.

Getting to the Sun is quite a hard task not only because it's a sphere of hot plasma, with an internal convective motion that generates a magnetic field via a dynamo process but also because our home planet moves sideways compared to the Sun at about 67,000 miles an hour, stated NASA. That's why the Delta IV Heavy was used as it has more thrust than the normal ones. However, this is a lot more complex than it seems.

The Journey: To unlock the mysteries of the Sun's atmosphere, Parker Solar Probe will use seven Venus flybys over almost seven years to gradually reduce its orbit around the Sun. Parker will reach 430,000 miles per hour on its final orbits, bolstered by the Sun's extreme gravity to become the fastest human-made object.

"China's CSRH will cooperate with Parker Solar Probe and their observation data can achieve a simultaneous analysis, two-way verification and mutual supplement", Yan added. NASA hopes the findings will enable scientists to forecast changes in Earth's space environment. But the wind is processed by the time it reaches Earth. "By studying it much closer to the Sun, the Parker Probe will be able to tell us such things as what part of the Sun is providing the energy source for the wind's particles and how they can accelerate to such incredibly high speeds".
