Louis area woman say they were denied job because of 'ghetto' name

The email was sent from an account belonging to a Mantality employee named Jordan Kimler, who has since deleted her social media and LinkedIn presences. She added that because of the incident, she second-guessed her name, trying to figure out if it indeed sounded "ghetto".

CBS-4 News Hermeisha Robinson and Dorneisha Zachary were both given emails denying their candidacy for a job because of their "ghetto" names.

Hermeisha Robinson received an email from Mantality Health reading: "Thank you for your interest in careers at Mantality Health".

So to be told that you won't be considered for a position because you have a "suggestive "ghetto" name" is not only racist, discriminatory, and wrong, but also an huge waste of time.

"The company looked at my name and said we don't care about what you've done in life your name is going is going to dismiss you completely", said Zachery.

A Missouri company is apologizing and claims they were hacked after a job applicant received a rejection letter stating that candidates with "ghetto" names won't be considered.

A fourth woman, who posted on Robinson's Facebook post, said that she too received the email.

Robinson asked friends to share her post, saying the "discrimination has to stop", but company officials contend the message isn't authentic, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

James Corden 'Late Late Show'
Ariana Grande is a national treasure - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. "Hello, I'm Ariana Grande ". When Corden asked if the rumor has any truth to it, Grande said, "No! No!" "Gets them every time! ".

Jack Gamache, Clinic Director of the St Louis Mantality location, said: 'Our Indeed account was hacked, that's where everything was sent from. "We share the anger and frustration of those who received these bogus emails". Kevin Meuret, the CEO of the clinic that treats men with low testosterone, told the newspaper on Tuesday that someone from outside Missouri hacked into its email system, most likely a disgruntled former employee.

Robinson, meanwhile, told The Post Wednesday that she's still reeling from the pure hatred exposed in the hacked message.

"Ms. Robinson is asking herself, as we all should be asking, why a business would so openly and brazenly announce and pursue a hiring policy that targets people because they are of color rather than hire people based upon their desire to work and support their families", Dowd wrote in a statement.

Burnett said that Robinson had been in tears after she read the message. "My father's name is Herman so I'm Hermeisha".

The company has launched an investigation with job hunting website Indeed.com to locate the IP address of the email sender.

Meuret says that Mantality is attempting to contact everyone who received the emails from the Indeed.com account.

Meuret noted that he felt bad for Robinson, the report said. "Regardless of the situation, that young lady shouldn't have to open anything that offensive". "But there was no one from our organization that sent that out".
