Yemenis hold funeral for children killed in Saudi airstrike

Yemenis dig graves for children killed in an air strike on a bus

According to the Houthi Health Ministry, 79 people in total and 56 children were wounded in the attack, which quickly drew condemnation and demands for an independent investigation from global humanitarian groups, the United Nations, and a small number of American lawmakers.

People carried pictures of those killed as Houthi forces managed the crowd attending the funeral.

Dozens of Yemeni children gathered on Sunday in the capital Sanaa to protest against airstrikes by the Saudi-led global coalition, which is believed to be behind the recent bombing of three buses that killed at least 51 people, mostly children.

Mourners shouted slogans against Saudi Arabia and its ally and key arms supplier, the United States. That raised the number of children killed in the raid from 29.

The Iran-backed militia are misusing the bad conditions of families in Yemen and luring, according to Yemeni human rights organizations, Malki told Sky News Arabia, asserting that the coalition is working on providing the children with the necessary medical treatment.

A military coalition led by Saudi Arabia has been carrying out devastating airstrikes since 2015 against Houthi positions - causing thousands of civilian deaths in the process, according to war monitors - in an attempt to restore the internationally-recognized government of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, which is now based in the southern port city of Aden.

The enemy will receive the response to the two crimes of killing the children and assassinating Saleh al-Samsad in a few days, ' said al-Mashat.

Nobody injured in House of Parliament crash in "life-threatening condition"
Masood abandoned his auto and then stabbed and killed a police officer before being shot dead in a courtyard outside Parliament. Images posted to social media showed a suspect surrounded by officers being led away from the vehicle in handcuffs.

Ahead of Monday's funerals for the dozens of children murdered by the Saudi-led coalition last week, images on social media showed Yemenis digging graves in preparation for the ceremonies.

Al-Masirah did not say how many victims were buried on Monday.

The coalition initially said its actions were "legitimate", but later said it would probe "collateral damage".

"In this war we have seen civilians shot at, bombed, killed and, unfortunately, this is really part of any confrontation", Gargash said, adding that both sides in the conflict had been to blame.

"For my son, I will take revenge on Salman and Mohammed Bin Zayed", he said, referring to leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Talks between Yemen's warring parties next month will focus on a transitional governance deal and disarmament, the United Nations special envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, said in remarks published on Saturday.
