Anderson takes five as India 107 all out at stumps

India vs England 2nd Test live Cricket Streaming

It has been an incredible day for England and Chris Woakes in particular.

On the Day 2, English bowlers used the conditions perfectly and restricted India for just 107 runs in the first innings.

But it was new-ball partner Mohammed Shami who struck first when, from around the wicket, he had Keaton Jennings, aiming across the line, lbw for 11.

In the brief morning session, Anderson got England off to a fine start, clean bowling opener Murali Vijay before removing Lokesh Rahul, who was caught behind by keeper Jonny Bairstow.

That brought debutant Ollie Pope to the crease and Surrey's talented 20-year-old showed no signs of nerves as he combined with Root to take the score to 77-2.

This was a day in three parts - all interspersed by showers - with the first dominated by Anderson, the second by a horrendous run-out of Cheteshwar Pujara and the third by Woakes and Anderson again. But Bairstow, as he's often done before, held firm while attacking the loose ball.

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi to join Valencia on season-long loan
Spanish League giants Valencia have agreed to sign Michy Batshuayi on a season long loan deal from Chelsea . Batshuayi joined Chelsea in July 2016 for a fee in the region of £33m and has scored 19 times in 53 games.

First, though, it was Jos Buttler who decided offence was his best option, hitting four boundaries as England surpassed India's first-innings total and took the lead.

Having been bowled out for 107 on day two, India will have harboured hopes of at least limiting England's lead when they reduced the hosts to 89-4 at lunch. He got off the mark with a four and looked composed throughout out his innings of 28 before he was LBW to Hardik Pandya (one for 16).

Seven balls later Alastair Cook joined Jennings back in the hut.

India then managed to get the big fish Joe Root at the stroke of Lunch as a delivery bowled at a short of a length hurried onto the batsman and kept a touch low at the same time to rap him on the pad.

Warwickshire favourite Woakes, recalled after England omitted Ben Stokes because of a clash with his fellow pace-bowling all-rounder's trial for affray, had missed the hosts' 31-run win in the first Test at his Edgbaston home ground last week because of fitness concerns following knee and calf injuries.

We hardly bowled any bad balls, we didn't give them much to hit, and when you build pressure like that all day, no matter who you are, it is hard.
