Nintendo Switch online services confirmed to launch second half of September

In case you missed it, Nintendo Switch Online will finally allow users to back up save files in the cloud. One such detail is Switch Online's release date, as thus far, Nintendo has only said that the service will launch in September.

Nintendo's Switch Online service will arrive in second half of September, the company announced. That means it's going be between five and seven weeks before we get to enjoy all the extras that come with the subscription.

Subscribers also get other benefits like a collection of online-enabled NES games such as Super Mario Bros.

The Nintendo Switch Online membership will include access to online play in compatible titles, starting with Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, and more. An additional 10 launch games will be announced in the future.

The Korean giant unveiled the device at its Unpacked event in NY on Thursday alongside the company's new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone. Meanwhile, Apple Inc managed to sell more of its $1,000 iPhone Xs in the June quarter and regain some favour in China.

While we don't have an exact date for the launch, Nintendo has narrowed the window down to the second half of September.

Nintendo Switch Online is cheaper than PlayStation Plus, and Xbox Live Gold.
