Facebook launches social AR games for Messenger

Facebook is one of these companies that are trying up their game by introducing new technology to its users.

Techcrunch has the details on Facebook's new offerings.

Messenger's AR video games are much like Snapchat's Snappables. "Then simply tap the star button and select one of the AR games - the person or group you are video chatting with will get a notification indicating it's time to get your game on".

However, the Facebook augmented reality video chat games will offer Facebook another opportunity to make money, and as all of their revenue comes from ads, expect something down the road.

Asteroids Attack sees you control a spaceship with your nose and moving your head around the screen to avoid asteroids.

Facebook said some users opted in to accessing some financial information in its Messenger app.

Now people with the updated Messenger app will see the feature being rolled out from today.
