At least 91 people have died and dozens are injured following a 6.4 magnitude natural disaster in Lombok Indonesia.

The quake, which struck at a depth of 15km off the north coast of Lombok, prompted a tsunami warning which was later lifted at 8.25pm local time.

Footage of the video at first showed the Imam and the congregation observing the prayer solemnly before the quake started.

The epicentre of the quake was the northern slope of Mount Rinjani, near where the previous quake struck a week ago.

According to BMKG, there were 20 aftershocks recorded up to 20.40pm local time.

Airports on both Lombok and Bali are both operating normally despite some minor damage - at Bali's Denpasar airport some ceiling panels were shaken loose by the tremors.

The powerful quake triggered panic among tourists and residents, and was also felt on the neighboring island of Bali.

Another strong quake has struck Indonesia's popular tourist island of Lombok.

"They were initially just little shocks but then they started to get bigger and bigger and people started to shout "earthquake", then all the staff panicked and rushed out of the building", the unnamed man said. There are parts of Lombok without power, he said. Around 1,000 tourists, including some Japanese, were stranded on a mountain as landslides blocked a trekking road.

Hundreds of tourists were evacuated from Mt Rinjani, Indonesia's second highest volcano, after the July 29 quake.
