Alex Jones' 'Infowars' Account Banned From Youtube

Infowars’ host Alex Jones

The shows were removed from iTunes because of its hate speech guidelines, Apple told the news outlet in a statement.

Apple said Jones' podcasts that violated its guidelines were removed from its directory "making them no longer searchable or available for download or streaming".

The cumulative actions represent the largest efforts yet against Jones, a conspiracy theorist who most famously promoted the idea that the 2012 Sandy Hook junior school shooting in CT never happened and was staged.

In a Monday blog post on Infowars.com, editor-at-large Paul Joseph Watson claimed the ban from Facebook, YouTube, Spotify and Apple "was a coordinated effort and has nothing to do with these platforms enforcing "hate speech" rules".

Facebook removed four videos from the pages last week after determining that they violated its hate speech and bullying policies.

YouTube completely removed The Alex Jones Channel and the Infowars Interviews Monday afternoon after the page received multiple strikes for violating the company's community standards.

Monday's decision to remove Jones' podcasts, which contain inflammatory opinions, including his denial that the school shooting in Newtown, Conn., actually happened, appears to be in response to the backlash Facebook suffered after his comments. Facebook did not immediately respond Monday asking what would happen after the 30 days are up, and why it hadn't taken action earlier.

The move by Facebook is the latest crackdown on Jones, who has recently had content removed from other platforms.

Training: City step up ahead of league opener
Arsenal legend, Martin Keown has predicted the English Premier League (EPL) clubs that will finish in the top-four this season. Football League clubs will be able to do both until the end of August, though.

Twitter told ABC News on Monday that Jones is now not in violation of the company's policies.

Facebook isn't alone in pulling content from Jones and Infowars.

Apple moved first, removing five out of six Jones-operated podcasts and their archive indexes over the weekend, as Buzzfeed reports. "When users violate these policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts", a spokesperson said. He also compared his situation to government censorship in China, suggesting that big tech companies like Google are using A.I.to quietly implement speech-restricting technology on American internet users.

In a livestream on Twitter, Mr Jones said InfoWars had become the "most censored" channel on Earth. "When something is rated as false, those stories are ranked significantly lower in News Feed, cutting future views by more than 80 percent", the company statement said.

InfoWars representatives said the companies coordinated their efforts to shut down independent conservative media in order to hurt Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections as well as to set a precedent for purging political speech.

Jones says his shows, which are broadcast on radio, and online platforms, reach at least 70 million people a week.

Facebook announced Monday that it has removed four pages of United States conspiracy theorist Alex Jones for violation of its policy that bans extremist behaviors including hate speech.

Spotify has also put the brakes on Jones' podcast, says CNBC which adds that Infowars in running out of places to share the theories about Sandy Hook and the Parkland school shooting.
