Ethereum Classic Coinbase Linsting Takes Place on August 7

Coinbase which has recently been mocked for announcing testing of tokens and not adding them, has finally announced that it will open for inbound transfers of ETC on Tuesday, August 7 on its Coinbase pro platform.

"We are making this announcement internally at Coinbase and to the public at the same time to remain transparent with our customers about support for future assets". Team will announce when Coinbase is ready to to accept inbound transfers of ETC. Coinbase intend to allow 24-48 hours of inbound transfers through Coinbase Pro and Coinbase Prime before enabling trading.

For the Coinbase Custody, support will be added for inbound transfers and withdrawals of the cryptocurrency.

Coinbase Pro customers, on the other hand, will have access to ETC trading services, with Coinbase Prime and Coinbase Markets customers also getting the same privilege.

Coinbase Markets, which provides a "a centralized pool of liquidity for all Coinbase products", will see the exchange enter a post-only period for a minimum of 10 minutes, in a move that, coupled with the cryptocurrency's deposits, will ensure liquidity before trading is enabled. Keep in mind that trading will not be enabled as soon as the cryptocurrency is listed.

At the onset of Ethereum Classic being listed on Coinbase, Brian Kelly on CNBC Fast Money discussion spoke about the 11% [at news hour] hike in the coin's price on the same day.

According to the announcement, support for ethereum classic will be implemented incrementally across the various Coinbase services namely Coinbase Custody, Coinbase Markets, Coinbase Pro, Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Asset Management and Coinbase Consumer.

Coinbase has had to toughen its listing process following heavy criticism and even a class action lawsuit over accusations of insider trading during last December's bitcoin cash listing. In July 2018, the company also stated that it is considering listing several other assets, including Cardano (ADA), Stellar (XLM) and a few others.
