Records galore for Pakistan in ODI at Bulawayo

Fakhar Zaman,Pakistan Cricket team,Zimbabwe Cricket team

Pakistan have won the fourth ODI against Zimbabwe by 244 runs after a thoroughly dominating performance in Bulawayo.

Shadab Khan was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers as he picked up four wickets and conceded only 28 runs.

But Fakhar, whose previous highest score in ODIs was 117no, pushed on after scoring his third ODI century to register the highest score recorded by a Pakistan batsman in ODIs - beating Saeed Anwar's 194 against India in Chennai in 1997.

Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq added 304 runs for the first wicket in the fourth ODI in Bulawayo. Sri Lanka have achieved this feat thrice earlier but Pakistan's score is the highest for any team going past the 362 for 1 made by India against Australia in 2013.

The record for the highest opening partnership was earlier held by Sri Lanka's Upul Tharanga and Sanath Jayasuriya, who had added 286 against England at Leeds in July 2006.

Trump says United States ready to tax all Chinese imports should need arise
Markets were already wary over increased trade tensions between the USA and the European Union over tariffs on vehicle imports. The Trump administration has also angered key allies by imposing tariffs of steel and aluminum imports earlier this year.

The pair surpassed the previous record of 263 runs, set by Aamir Sohail and Inzamamul Haq against New Zealand in 1994.

Fakhar and Imam's partnership was also the highest opening stand for Pakistan as well.

Along with Fakhar's double ton, Imam also scored a hundred - 113 off 122 balls.

Zaman also became the first Pakistan batsman to score a double century in ODI cricket.

The 323 combined runs scored by the two openers is the second most ever in ODIs and 90 runs more than Pakistan's previous record.
