On Monday, July 16th, the temperatures are will reach a high of 25°C; however, inland temperatures are expected to reach a sizzling 32°C.

People are urged to keep an eye out for swelling, rashes, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of existing health conditions.

Heat warnings have been issued for parts of southern B.C. including Greater Victoria, eastern Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.

The heat warning is expected to end on Wednesday, but then an entirely different - though no less unsafe - weather front will move in, with a chance of thunderstorms hitting Calgary by Wednesday afternoon.

Increasing cloudiness will develop today with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon.
