Let's keep making noise! - Serena dedicates Wimbledon run to fellow mothers

Serena Williams reflects on her Wimbledon journey and what lies ahead after losing to Angelique Kerber in the Wimbledon final

Graf's 22 Grand Slam titles spanned 12 years.

"He congratulated this year's female champion Angelique Kerber on her victory, before adding: "@serenawilliams will be holding a trophy again soon - she's got the greatest one waiting at home for her.

In her fourth tournament back, just 10 months after becoming a mother, she fought her way through the Wimbledon field to reach the final. The 30-year-old needs the French Open to complete the full set, and although clay is her weakest surface, she is a phenomenal athlete with time on her side.

The Belgian's professional tennis career appeared to be over, having been forced to retire at the age of 23 through injury and after giving birth to daughter Jada. "Also, with the experience she has, she is taking more experience into those matches to stay mentally calm". For many this would be enough to call it a day, to shy away from public life - not Serena.

And the 36-year-old, who gave birth to daughter Alexis Olympia Jr just last year, revealed her fellow mums were the driving force behind her competition.

Chennai: Men accused of raping 11-year-old thrashed in court
Shockingly, the girl's mother who is a homemaker couldn't find anything suspicious when the girl was coming home late from school. The incident came to light when the victim, a class seven student, told her elder sister about the trauma she was going through.

She was World No. 1 in 2016.

Serena Williams might not have won on the tennis court at Wimbledon over the weekend but she's always a big victor in her husband's eyes.

Following the landmark moment, she tweeted: "She took her first steps ..." Super-mum doesn't even cut it. "You can do it, you really can", she posted on Twitter.

Serena's technique on the tennis court is a handsome thing to behold. And you absolutely don't want to be on the end of one of her serves. Just 10 days earlier, the four-time Olympian put on one of the displays of the Commonwealth Games to secure bronze in the 5,000m.

It's obvious that Serena has the world's best cheerleader (and hubby) in Alexis and for that she's always winning. "To all the moms out there, I was playing for you today and I tried", she said, her voice breaking as the crowd cheered. This positive queen teaches us that we can be silly, fun and carefree while still getting results when it matters.
