Raptors 'Generate Buzz' As Possible Trade Spot For Kawhi Leonard

If the Raptors go bargain hunting to fill out their roster here are 10 likely candidates

Earlier in the week, Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post reported that the Toronto Raptors are gaining momentum as a potential Leonard suitor. But, in the latest development, there's been some interesting movement on the betting front, as the Toronto Raptors now have the best odds to start next season with the superstar forward on their roster.

The Sixers could offer a combination of young players and drafts picks to the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard. Boston and Philadelphia are the favorites to make the Finals, though adding Leonard could make the Raptors more competitive. Masai Ujiri and Bobby Webster have both said that the Raptors' goal is nothing short of a championship and Kawhi is the type of talent who can put that into play. That is, assuming the Spurs would be interested in such a deal.

If San Antonio wants to get a deal done, the Sixers remain one of the best options in the league.

DeRozan will be 29 in August, but is coming off another All-Star season.

Leonard's future continues to dominate the NBA headlines with uncertainty over where he will be playing his basketball next season.

Coach Dalic spoke for an hour on Thursday back at the same Luzhniki Stadium where his team broke English hearts the day before. Croatia lost that encounter 2-1 before going on to secure bronze - until Wednesday their best performance at a global finals.

The recruitment of Kawhi Leonard, who is still on the Spurs, has been a long, odd road.

There doesn't seem to be a ideal offer out there for the Spurs, at least not at the moment.

Reports of Toronto as a possible trade partner with San Antonio began to surface earlier in the week. The Lakers don't seem willing to trade Brandon Ingram, and the Celtics reportedly don't want to trade any of their budding stars. It has only been a few months, but it seems like this saga has been brewing for a billion years.

The Spurs come well below at +400, with the Lakers (+500) and Clippers (+600) separated only by 100 in the odds race.
