London police detain Maryam Nawaz’s son for ‘punching PTI worker’

Nawaz Sharif Accuses Pakistan Army Of'Attempting To Rig Elections

The party said scores of its members were nabbed in the sweep in eastern Punjab province.

. The police meanwhile said about 100 were detained "to avoid violence".

The regulator's order comes against the backdrop of a crackdown by the Pakistani police targeting leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, or PML-N, after Nawaz Sharif declared that he was returning from London "despite seeing a prison cell in front of him".

Nawaz Sharif, who was convicted in absentia last week of corruption and sentenced to 11 years in jail, commenced his journey to homeland from the city's Heathrow Airport late on Thursday.

Shahbaz Sharif condemned the arrests, demanded they stop and that everyone detained be immediately released.

DOJ reopens Emmett Till case after ‘new information’ arises
Deliberations took barely an hour, with one juror claiming the acquittal could've come sooner had they not stopped to have a soda. Till's cousin, Deborah Watts, said she was not told the case was reopened until AP contacted her but said it was "wonderful".

The two are scheduled to land at the Lahore airport at 6:15pm on July 13.

Prior to his departure, Sharif had said his wife finally opened her eyes for a few seconds - something he had revealed a day prior that he wished for.

During his term in office, Sharif had criticized the military's involvement in civilian affairs and its efforts in fighting extremists. In this regard, the PML-N has asked different wings of the party to bring maximum people to the Lahore airport on July 13.

In the context of the present political circumstances in Pakistan, if Sharif is somehow able to win the next general election, the forces opposing his return should prepare for a leader who will be more assertive, independent, and defiant with his policy actions in the government. Sharif offered condolences for the suicide bombing this week that killed secular politician Haroon Ahmed Bilour and 20 others during a political rally. On Thursday, Pakistan's army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa and caretaker prime minister, Nasir-ul-Mulk, visited Bilour's residence to offer condolences.
