Armless Miami man charged with stabbing Chicago tourist

Police arrested and charged Jonathan Crenshaw with aggravated battery.

Just after midnight, Miami Beach Police say, Crenshaw clutched a pair of scissors with his feet and stabbed Cesar Coronado, 22, who was visiting Miami from Chicago, reports the Miami Herald.

A 46-year-old homeless man with no arms was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, for stabbing another man with a pair of scissors using his feet, police said on Wednesday.

Jonathan Crenshaw is a fixture in South Beach, known for painting canvasses with his feet in the heavily trafficked tourist area.

Neither men dispute that Coronado was stabbed, but Crenshaw said he was attacked first, according to the arrest report.

On Monday night, his usual hangout turned violent.

According to the Miami Herald, Crenshaw, who is homeless, told Miami Beach police that he had been lying down when Coronado attacked him first, punching him in the head.

The publication has profiled Crenshaw in the past and found he has had multiple run-ins with police and other officials, including violent crime charges.

That's when Crenshaw allegedly reacted by jumping up, stabbing Coronado and running away, police said. He was taken to a local hospital after officers found him lying on the floor.

Crenshaw, who has been charged with aggravated battery, has a court date on 18 July.
