Who will Trump nominate to Supreme Court? Time, how to watch, livestream

News reported on Sunday night that Kavanaugh and Hardiman are getting the most attention in the decision-making process. There's only one way to do this-fill every judicial vacancy with a conservative.

"I'll be deciding tonight or tomorrow sometime by 12 o'clock", he said.

President Donald Trump is set to announce his Supreme Court pick Monday evening.

Republicans hold a slim 51-49 majority in the Senate, though with ailing Senator John McCain battling cancer in his home state of Arizona they now can muster only 50 votes.

Manchin's spokesperson also said he wasn't planning to attend and the senator said later in a tweet that he appreciated the invitation from Trump. He referred to recent statements by Trump personal attorney Rudy Giuliani that the president won't agree to an interview with Mueller unless something is "uncovered" and there is a clear basis for the interview.

Democrats have sounded the alarm that Trump could shift the ideological balance of the court and thereby place women's reproductive rights, health care and gay rights at risk. Some conservative activists have questioned whether he would rule sufficiently aggressively as a justice. The nomination is poised to cement the Supreme Court's conservative majority, vastly reshaping the court for decades to come.

He has served since 2006 on the influential US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and was formerly a White House aide under George W Bush.

Hardiman, who turned 53 on Sunday, lost out to Gorsuch in 2017.

Dick Cheney Signs Waterboarding Kit For Sacha Baron Cohen's New Show
However, this new TV project - apparently titled Who Is America? - could be just the thing to put him back on top. The last time he appeared on the big screen was in 2016's Grimsby and Alice Through the Looking Glass .

"Casey's willingness to oppose any nominee off of a list that includes judges he has previously voted for shows he will oppose President Trump at all costs, even when doing so makes him look like a partisan hack". This isn't the first time he's helped nominees get through the Senate. I do think the president has to think about who is the easiest to get confirmed here. "And I expect we'll do that on sort of a normal timetable of a couple of months".

Kennedy is expected to step down at the end of July.

"Judge Kavanaugh has impeccable credentials, unsurpassed qualifications and a proven commitment to equal justice under the law", Trump said.

Barrett, 46, is a rising judicial star and a favorite among social conservatives. Gorsuch, Trump's first pick, is 50. Barrett has said she believes life begins at conception.

"I was lucky. My mum was a teacher in the 1960s and 1970s, she taught history at two largely African American public high schools in Washington DC, McKinlay Tech and HD Woodson", Judge Kavanaugh said.

Kavanaugh made headlines recently when he backed the Trump administration in his dissent to a ruling that allowed an undocumented minor to receive an abortion. If confirmed, Kavanaugh would replace long-serving conservative Justice Kennedy, who announced his retirement on June 27 at age 81.

But his supporters cite his experience and wide range of legal opinions. Kethledge, 51, is a judge for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is seen as supporting originalism, an interpretation of the Constitution along the lines of its meaning at the time of enactment.

Two Republican senators, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of ME, are pro-abortion and have said they would vote against a candidate who would overturn Roe v. Wade.
