Travis Pastrana Jumps the Caesars Palace Fountain in Epic Motorcycle Stunt

Travis Pastrana outside of Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip

In the first jump, Pastrana traveled 143 feet as he leaped over 52 crushed cars that were stacked three high.

During a special on the History Channel, Pastrana replicated three of the most famous jumps in daredevil Evel Knievel's repertoire.

Knievel jumped over 50 crushed cars at the Los Angeles Coliseum in 1973, and 14 Greyhound buses in 1975 at Ohio's Kings Island amusement park.

Pastrana took the stunt to another level, jumping 16 buses on his 350-pound (roughly 160kg) bike - flying 192ft in the process.

Pastrana, who wore a jumpsuit similar to what Knievel wore, said the fountain jump was the hardest. The end result of Knievel's most famous crash was a broken hip, ankle, wrist and both hands, which will happen when you hit the ground at 90 miles per hour.

Pastrana ended the event by jumping into the fountain as hundreds of fans on the streets of Las Vegas cheered him on.

Jurgen Klopp desperate to sign Philippe Coutinho replacement
After Daniel Sturridge's performance during Liverpool's recent 7-0 friendly win over Chester, Reds fans have been taking to social media to laud the 28-year-old.

"Man it's such a honor to live a day to in Evel's footsteps - and literally in his boots", the personable Pastrana said on the landing ramp as a huge crowd of onlookers cheered. When Knievel attempted the same jump in 1967, he crashed and suffered extensive injuries. The stunts air live Sunday as part of "Evel Live" beginning at 8 p.m. EST on the History Channel.

Over 50 years after Knievel's memorable crash, Pastrana cleared the fountains outside the Las Vegas casino. "I'm not done yet, but this was definitely one of the coolest things, the coolest thing I've ever been able to do". It was also the shortest of the three jumps which allowed Pastrana, straddling his Indian Scout FTR 750, to get some proper warm up.

"This (jumping the fountain) is definitely the most technical".

But Pastrana grew more serious knowing the most unsafe and technical jump was still to come.

While Knievel might not have necessarily been the most successful stunt artist in terms of, uh, completing all his jumps and stunts, he was among the most daring ever and inspired a generation to think bigger.

Pastrana then did some burnouts to celebrate the feat.
