Tropical depression forms over central Atlantic

It has maximum sustained winds near 35 miles per hour with higher gusts, and could strengthen into a tropical storm later Thursday or Friday.

At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two was located near latitude 10.2 North, longitude 41.4 West. A hurricane watch is in effect for Dominica and a tropical storm watch is in effect for Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Martin and St. Barthelemy. "By Tuesday, a faster northeastward motion is expected to begin", forecasters said. It's expected to degenerate into a low pressure system before it reaches the Lesser Antilles. These shearing winds should weaken this system as it is reaching the Lesser Antilles.

"Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 miles per hour (85 km/h) with higher gusts".

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).

"While we don't expect a direct hit to take place on Puerto Rico, even some of those outer bands. have the potential to knock out power" on the USA territory, where Maria triggered months of power outages, CNN meteorologist Allison Chinchar said.

Here's the latest on Celtics guard Marcus Smart
According to the report from the Boston Herald , Smart is waiting on a three-to-four year deal. Given that projected surplus, they may elect to stand pat for the most part.

After impacting the Lesser Antilles, Beryl will likely become remnants and will have a tough time redeveloping with a high wind shear environment.

The hurricane season has always been closely watched by energy and agricultural traders because of the potential for supply disruptions and demand destruction. Beryl is now forecast to track south of Puerto Rico and Hispaniola as a tropical storm early next week. Additional strengthening is forecast, and Beryl could become a hurricane by Friday or Saturday.

That's according to the latest forecast released by Meteorologist Phil Klotzbach and his team at the Colorado State University in the United States on Monday.

That's a big dip from their model in May, where they predicted there would be between 14 and 18 named storms on the eastern seaboard, seven of which would be hurricanes. Tropical Storm Alberto was the season's first, which developed in late May.
