Netflix tests Ultra plan

TuttoAndroid has spotted that some European Netflix users are being presented with an option to try out a new "Ultra" tier, priced at between €16.99 and €19.99 a month. Promotional material for this new streaming package indicates that it would essentially be the same as the current "Premium" tier.

At present, the Premium tier, which is priced at £9.99 per month in the United Kingdom, allows for viewing on up to four screens at once, plus gives access to 4K HDR content - in Dolby Vision too if your TV supports it. At the same time, there could be some changes made to current plans that are bound to anger many Netflix subscribers.

Currently, the Premium plans allows UHD streaming on four devices at the same time.

Rather than being able to watch Netflix content on four screens simultaneously as it stands now, Premium subscribers might only have support for two screens, while the new Ultra plan will come with support for four displays.

Need Government's Partnership To Curb Spread Of False Messages: WhatsApp
In June, police joined civilian protestors the southern city of Hyderabad to demonstrate against the spread of the rumors. It's the latest in a string of attacks sparked by unconfirmed reports disseminated on the popular messaging app.

"We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time", Smita Saran, a Netflix spokeswoman, said in an email. The prices for Standard and Premium plans would not be increased, but losing screens equals a price hike if you share your Netflix login. Will you be happy paying for the new Ultra tier? Notably, the Standard tier would also get to one stream from two.

The company added that not all subscribers would see the Ultra subscription tier during the test, and it may not be implemented. In April, it was valued at a whopping $170 billion by investors betting on Netflix's potential for global growth; at the time, it counted some 125 million subscribers worldwide. "In this case, we are testing slightly different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix".

The Ultra plan, that is how Netflix calls it right now, is the most expensive plan up to date.
