Chelsea youngster and England worldwide Ruben Loftus-Cheek says he needs to be playing regularly next season.

The Chronicle have reported how Newcastle are keen admirers of Loftus-Cheek, but any deal initially seemed highly unlikely. I want to play as much as I can.

Chelsea is facing a similar situation with midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek who excelled tremendously on loan at Crystal Palace and managed to make it to the England national squad as well.

However, the Chelsea youngster has stated that he wants to play more football, wherever it may be.

Loftus-Cheek made his first appearance at the World Cup in England's win over Tunisia, entering the game as a late substitute and helping the team grab a late victor.

'That's the key for me next season regarding where I end up.

"Then the blow to my ankle came and I was very disappointed with that after I'd been playing well, I wanted to carry things on".

"But I ended up playing the weekend after for Palace and my back felt all right, so I was delighted with that".

"I do understand Chelsea is a big club and there is always pressure on managers to win games and trophies".

Loftus-Cheek has three years to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge and is valued at around £35million.

"I'm confident in my ability that I can do well wherever it is. So I understand they might not be willing to take a chance on someone". We'll see what happens.

Should Loftus-Cheek be called upon against Panama on Sunday, it seems that this attitude will be popular with numerous England faithful.

"He is still favoured at 8/11 to remain at Chelsea next season, while it's 7/1 for him to return to Crystal Palace having enjoyed a successful loan spell there last season".

Loftus-Cheek would surely be one of Newcastle's most exciting additions for years, if he was to arrive at St. James' Park, and Benitez should be very interested in the 22-year-old's latest comments.
