Apple Admits MacBook Keyboard Fail, Offering Repairs and Refunds

The problem, caused by a faulty butterfly key switch mechanism, caused numerous laptops' owners to experience keys that stuck, or failed to function as intended. Apparently, the switches are so delicate that the mere presence of dust can force them to fail.

In Friday's notice, Apple made no mention to why the keyboards were faulty.

In general, the issues-which many users have reportedly complained about since the introduction of the thin butterfly-design keyboards three years ago-involve keys that feel sticky and/or unresponsive. However, the keyboards have numerous passionate and vocal detractors who say that they're bad to type on, and who also cite reliability concerns. The new Keyboard Service Program for MacBook and MacBook Pro is Apple's first real acknowledgement that some of the low-profile keyboards on its latest notebooks haven't been quite as successful as initially promised.

Presumably, the company is sticking with the butterfly switches.

Nigeria vs. Iceland live stream
The all-important game will be of great significance for Argentina too, as the result will decide their future in the competition. Both the teams have met each other only once in the past for a friendly encounter back in 1981 where Iceland won 3-0.

"Apple knew or should have known of the butterfly keyboard defects before the Laptops were ever sold to the public", lawsuit alleges.

"Today we launched a keyboard service program for our customers that covers a small percentage of keyboards in certain MacBook and MacBook Pro models which may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors: letters or characters that repeat unexpectedly or don't appear when pressed or keys that feel "sticky" or aren't responding in a consistent manner."

For affected users, Apple will offer a fix for free, and anyone who has paid for a replacement keyboard or keys through Apple will be refunded for the cost of the repair. All you have to do is contact the company.
