FOX News' Charles Krauthammer Dead At 68

The longtime Fox News contributor gave the harrowing announcement that his cancer had returned despite undergoing surgery last August when he had a cancerous tumor in his abdomen removed

Conservative commentator and Pulitzer Prize victor Charles Krauthammer has died at age 68.

Krauthammer announced on June 8 that doctors had given him just weeks to live. "This is the final verdict", he wrote.

In a poignant farewell column earlier this month, Krauthammer wrote he had "no regrets" and that he lived the life he intended.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst stated after undergoing surgery in August 2017 to remove a cancerous tumor from his abdomen, but the cancer returned.

In addition, 70 per cent of the world's displaced are nationals of just 10 countries, according to the UNHCR report. In its annual Global Trends report , UNHCR said 68.5 million people were displaced as of the end of 2017.

His death was announced by two organizations that were longtime employers, Fox News Channel and The Washington Post. It was a wonderful life - full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make it worth living.

A diving accident in medical school left Krauthammer paralyzed from the neck down. In recent years, he'd appeared on FOX News' "Special Report with Bret Baier" as a panelist.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend". A gifted doctor and brilliant political commentator, Charles was a guiding voice throughout his time with FOX News and we were incredibly fortunate to showcase his extraordinary talent on our programs.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would sorely miss Krauthammer's "friendship and his wise counsel". At the time, he was also a marquee essayist for Time, the New Republic, the Weekly Standard and the National Interest, The Post reported. A Washington Post reporter tweeted a photo of the in memoriam, which showed Krauthammer's photo displayed above the outfield.
