No special effort planned to reunite migrant families already separated

Melania Trump speaks out about migrants

President Donald Trump said he would be signing an executive order later Wednesday that would end the process of separating children from families after they are detained crossing the US border illegally. Trump adds that the word "compassion" comes into it.

"There's no reason to separate the kids from their mothers and fathers".

However it is not yet known for long they will be detained or where the immigrant families will be held after being taken to US Border Control facilities. "Of the 12,000 children, 10,000 are being sent by their parents on a very unsafe trip, and only 2000 are with their parents, many of whom have tried to enter our Country illegally on numerous occasions".

The president had repeatedly, and as recently as Wednesday morning, blamed Democrats and previous administrations for the widely condemned policy of taking children from parents, and was accused of placing the children in a hostage-like situation so as to not only pass sweeping immigration reforms but to ensure funding for his proposed border wall.

"We want security for our country", Trump said.

"We're looking to keep families together", he told journalists this afternoon. We have to be able to do this.

Under current law, detained minors can only be held for 20 days and are now housed by Health and Human Services instead of the U.S. Marshals, who house adults.

House Speaker Paul Ryan said the House will vote Thursday on legislation which keeps families together when immigrants are prosecuted at the border.

America's top law official told Fox News the "zero tolerance" policy was about enforcing border security. Of the 12,000 children, 10,000 are being sent by their parents on a very unsafe trip, and only 2000 are with their parents, many of whom have tried to enter our Country illegally on numerous occasions.

Canada legalizes marijuana nationwide after senate passes bill
Here are places where cannabis, also known as marijuana or pot, is already allowed for recreational or medical reasons. The federal government and the provinces also still need to publish regulations that will govern cannabis trade.

"President Trump has finally recognized his folly, but this humanitarian crisis should have never happened in the first place", she said. "You started it, you can stop it".

That claim is a lie: It is the Trump administration's own zero-tolerance policy - which mandates that every undocumented immigrant who crosses the border be criminally prosecuted and detained - that led to child separations.

Between May 5 and June 9, more than 2,300 children were separated from their families at the United States' border with Mexico.

Widespread outrage over the separations has given Republicans cause for concern in an election year.

In May, the Department of Justice adopted the zero-tolerance policy in which anyone caught entering the US illegally is criminally prosecuted.

The US House of Representatives will vote on Thursday on immigration legislation created to end the government's practice of separating families who cross the US border illegally, House speaker Paul Ryan said.

And Democrats continued to increase the pressure, with Florida U.S. Sen.

Sessions has rejected claims that U.S. holding centres for child migrants separated from parents are like Nazi concentration camps. "This is in my state of Florida".
