YouTube preparing to battle Spotify with latest offering

YouTube Premium chart

With streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal now dominating the market, YouTube Music comes in to offer access to its catalog of remixes, live performances, covers and music videos that aren't available elsewhere.

YouTube will offer the "premium" streaming music as a standalone, or in combination with its original video plan, which is being rebranded as YouTube Premium from YouTube Red.

YouTube Music will launch in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea on May 22. There will be a mobile app and a desktop player created to stream pre-programmed playlists, personalized music suggestions, live performances, and music videos, according to a statement from YouTube. Roman explained that Google Play Music subscribers will automatically get a YouTube Music Premium membership.

YouTube Music is Google's attempt at taking on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify directly. YouTube Premium includes the YouTube Music Service, and the price for new members will be $11.99.

First, understand that YouTube Music is still free, with ads.

The particles can be inhaled deep into the lungs, causing heart attacks, strokes, lung cancer and respiratory diseases. This is followed by pollution from passenger vehicles including exhaust emissions and associated suspended dust.

Apart from YouTube Music, Google-owned YouTube will also be re-launching YouTube Red as YouTube Premium. YouTube Music Premium is replacing the Google Play Music app and subscribers to the latter will be able to hear their purchased music, uploads and playlists that were part of their Google Play Music subscription.

With Google focusing its resources on artificial intelligence, AI makes a big impact for Google users who will use YouTube Music. The new name, YouTube Premium, provides ad-free, background and offline capabilities across YouTube.

YouTube Music features a personalized home screen, providing recommendations based on your listening history and location data, meaning it could slide you some workout jams as soon as you step in the gym or offer up something calming before a flight as you sit in the airport.

On that note, Google says that Google Play Music isn't going anywhere (yet). It's unclear if YouTube Premium will be rolling out to other countries, however. Recently, Cobra Kai was the most watched show on any streaming service and it just announced a new AI docu-series starring Robert Downy Jnr. The service is now known as YouTube Premium, and it's only available as a $2 add-on to the $10/month YouTube Music Premium service.
