Tower blocks turn green in solidarity one year on from Grenfell blaze

NHS hopes virtual reality will help Grenfell victims mental trauma

"I think Grenfell is a once in a generation opportunity to ask some really deep questions about the way we live together, the way we care for each other in society", he said.

A round-the-clock vigil at a London church where people sought refuge on the night of the Grenfell Tower fire, which killed 71 people, will mark the first anniversary of a tragedy that still haunts Britain.

It was standing-room only at St Helen's Church in north Kensington, where a few hundred people gathered one year on from the devastating fire.

The fire, which broke out in the kitchen of a fourth-floor flat in the 24-storey tower in the early hours of June 14 previous year, spread swiftly up the building.

"It will be a hard day for the community, with poignant moments to remember those that lost their lives a year ago", she said. Some wore green as part of a campaign to show support for those whose lives were forever altered by the fire.

No information is getting through, people feel helpless.

Play Association is one of a number of charities and organisations ensuring families and firefighters affected by the Grenfell Tower fire are given a break this summer.

Mr Burton continued: "It was quite weird, I went into the sports centre and I hear "Hi Nick" and it's Adele calling me over, who introduced me to her new husband and then Marcus comes over and we had a hug, then Stormzy comes over, they have all been unbelievable".

Cristiano Ronaldo record is stat I have tournament record Asamoah Gyan
Ronaldo has had the case hanging over him since he appeared in court last July near Madrid to answer four counts of tax evasion. The perfectly taken shot - with the ball going over the wall and into the top corner - was the talk of the World Cup on Friday.

A spokesman for Barratt Residential Asset Management, the firm that manages the building, said: "A fire occurred in a single apartment at the Roma Corte building early this morning, it was extinguished safely and quickly without any injuries".

The fire service has also come under the spotlight over its advice at the time for residents to stay put, which was only lifted two hours after the blaze began. Survivors and relatives of those who died have already given evidence to commemorate their loved ones.

"Forever in our Hearts", citizens' group Grenfell United tweeted.

She explained how for her children, the Grenfell Tower fire has been a hard time.

Residents argue the wealthy borough neglected the less affluent northern section that is home to Grenfell and surrounding public housing.

It was a moment of reflection for survivors, emergency services and others from the community.

Prime Minister Theresa May has also faced criticism, including over her government's hesitation to ban the cladding involved, after a report said that alone would not stop a repeat of the tragedy. She said the trip made a real difference: "It's incredible".

The England team in Russian Federation also observed the silence.
