Trudeau Acts Hurt when Called Out

Trudeau shows some Grit

Navarro also said Trump attending the G7 in Canada was a "courtesy" to Trudeau and that the President had "bigger things on his plate" in Singapore. The United States is not facing a risky dairy emergency, and it never will. Wildly exaggerated economic grievances, not national security, are driving Mr. Trump's trade agenda.

The G7 countries, in the communique, "acknowledge free, fair, and mutually beneficial trade is a key engine for growth and jobs", and commits these nations to modernize the World Trade Organization (WTO). Trump has imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imported to the USA from the EU, Canada and Mexico.

The fight could have serious economic consequences, since Canada is the US's top trade partner and the largest export market for 32 states.

US President Donald Trump - now in Singapore - continued his personal tweeting attack against Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with the assertion that "Justin acts hurt when called out!"

He cited "a $800 Billion Trade Deficit" for the US, a number he's touted several times.

While the agreement of legislators who are normally opposed on most fronts was remarkable, the anger also spread to pundits, officials, celebrities and ordinary citizens as Canadians vowed consumer boycotts of American goods and brainstormed insults of Trump on social media.

The EU then announced tariffs on U.S. goods ranging from Harley-Davidson motorcycles to bourbon.

They are all wonderful players...playing in biggest teams in Europe... They are in group D alongside Argentina, Croatia and newbies Iceland.

Kudlow's and Navarro's comments come on the heels of a tense G7 summit that left relations with USA allies even more fractured than before.

"He followed up by asking why the U.S. should "allow countries to continue to make "massive trade surpluses", asserting that it is "not fair to the people of America" and that the USA is suffering under a "$800 billion trade deficit".

Sometimes described as a "mini-Obama", not least due to his omnipresent smile, Trudeau is clearly far closer in his political alignments to the US Democratic Party than Trump's Republicans. The EU trade surplus with the U.S.is $151 Billion, and Canada keeps our farmers and others out.

Tensions have been building between the two countries for months, as President Trump has targeted Canada as one of the many countries he sees as giving American the short end of the stick in trade deals.

In response to the initial tweets critical of her country and prime minister, Canada's foreign minister, Chrystia Freeland, said her nation "does not conduct its diplomacy through ad hominem attacks". He vented his sentiments on Twitter just minutes after Trudeau's announcement with a scathing invective calling his host "very dishonest & weak".

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow accused Trudeau of undermining Trump right before his meeting in Singapore with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. "As Canadians, we're polite, we're reasonable, but also we will not be pushed around", he said.

Tusk was referencing a comment made by Trump aide Peter Navarro, who shocked even the US President's Republican colleagues when he called Trudeau a backstabber - over the issue of trade tariffs - and verbally consigned him to "hell" after a G7 meet in Canada over the weekend. We can't pose a security threat to the United States, and I know that Americans understand that.
