Conor McGregor makes brief court appearance

Conor Mc Gregor Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC superstar Conor McGregor is set to appear in court in NY on Thursday to answer for his bus attack at UFC 223. The hearing lasted all of 45 seconds but, crucially, it was stated that Conor is in plea negotiations and his next court appearance will be July 26. The new date gives McGregor's legal team more time to try and work out a plea agreement with the district attorney's office. Nurmagomedov was left unharmed, however Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were unfortunately caught in the crossfire, and were forced to pull out of their respective fights due to injuries sustained during McGregor's attack.

"I regret my actions that led to today", the statement read.

Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor has told a court that he "regrets" a backstage brawl at an arena.

Mcgregor remains out on bond.

He continued, "I understand the seriousness of this matter and I'm hopeful that it gets resolved soon". Cowley is facing one count of assault and one count of criminal mischief.

After tweeting that he's flown back to New York City in his private jet, Conor McGregor is preparing to answer to a judge after the infamous Barclays Center Brawl.

UFC overlord Dana white indicated he has no inside information on Thursday's happenings and will be waiting on tenterhooks.

Police said one person had been injured as a bus window was smashed, with the chaotic scenes leading to three fights being cancelled this weekend.

McGregor, once the UFC's simultaneous 145- and 155-pound champion, hasn't fought since the fracas.

During his period away from he was defeated by Floyd Mayweather in August a year ago at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada.

Also arrested was Cian Cowley, of Dublin, who surrendered with McGregor. I don't know what's going to happen.
