A pregnant woman is reportedly being held captive along with possibly two other people in Paris, according to Daily Mail.

Before the arrest, police and firefighters sent a water-spraying robot into the building, Le Parisien newspaper reported.

Photos and videos from the scene showed numerous police vehicles and ambulances at Rue des Petites Ecuries in the 10th arrondissement of the French capital. Their captor apparently was armed with knives.

Police would not immediately confirm whether the person holding the hostages was armed or describe the nature of his demands. He reportedly struck one man, who managed to escape, but was doused with gasoline.
