Kim commits to 'complete denuclearisation' after Trump summit

US President Donald Trump shakes hands with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at the Capella Hotel in Singapore on Tuesday

Appearing in front of the media after the bilateral talks with North Korean leader, Donald Trump said that the meeting with Kim Jong-un was 'better than anybody could have expected.' As the two leaders met, Singapore navy vessels and air force Apache helicopters patrolled, while fighter jets and a Gulfstream 550 Airborne Early Warning aircraft circled. President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. The statement excluded some key details about what denuclearization would mean or how it would be accomplished.

Before they signed the document, Trump and Kim had been involved in one-on-one talks, which came after months of planning. The communist dictatorship has been condemned worldwide for the political prisons, assassinations and starvation in the country.

The meeting was the first time a sitting U.S. president has met North Korea's leader.

"I learned he's a very talented man".

"The President's comments [were] very positive and the Statement touches on a new relationship with North Korea, and end to the Korean War, complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and recovering POW/MIA remains - all positive commitments", he said.

United States President Donald Trump has revealed new details about the closely guarded medical condition of First Lady Melania Trump, saying she underwent a four-hour operation and that her recovery would keep her from travelling overseas with him.

South Koreans do hope that they can once again be united with the North, but there are many questions to be answered, like how the two distinct societies would be integrated, and if anyone would hold Kim Jong-un to account for numerous documented human rights abuses.

'Nobody's Talking to You': Gutfeld on De Niro's Anti-Trump Tirade
Ted Nugent tweeted: 'Damn shame Robert de Niro turned into such a hypocritical America hating drug-addled jerk'. His comments came the day after he used an expletive to refer to Trump in a televised Tony Awards show in NY .

"Well he is very talented".

Speaking about Kim, Trump said "we have developed a very special bond" and is "absolutely" willing to invite Kim to the White House.

The MFA also said Lee will meet President Trump separately on Monday. "Ok sometimes that doesn't work out, but sometimes it does", Trump said. "It's rough in a lot of places", he said.

The summit, which was nearly scrapped by a mercurial Trump last month, comes after a flurry of diplomatic activities and barrage of invective and insults traded between the US President and an equally aggressive Kim.

"This guy wants to be around the world", Rodman said of Kim.

Trump trusts that Kim is willing to give up nuclear weapons in order to reintegrate his country and his people with the rest of the world and to kickstart North Korea's economy, which has always been plagued with sanctions and trade penalties. "It is responsible for the starvation deaths of millions of North Koreans, and for the imprisonment, torture, killing and oppression of countless more".

Sen. Lindsey Graham does not have an issue with halting joint military exercises between the USA and South Korea while discussions with North Korea continue.
