Boyd Dies: Former "America’s Got Talent" Winner Was 42

Boyd Dies: Former

We're told he had a known a health condition related to his heart. Boyd died from heart failure and had several medical issues, including heart failure, kidney failure, and issues with his liver.

It's claimed that Neal was at his mother's home in Sikeston, Missouri in the U.S. when he died. His backstory was appropriately bittersweet; as a young man who grew up in poverty, an insurance salesman turned opera singer followed his dream with the support of his family behind him.

Boyd won NBC's "America's Got Talent" and its $1 million prize in 2008. The singer was reportedly at his mother's home at the time. In addition to his music career, he ran for an empty seat in the Missouri House of Representatives in 2011.

Queen's Birthday Honours: Outstanding Gold Coasters recognised
Professor Rosemary Davis, from Moreton-in-Marsh, who is Professor Emeritus at University College London, is made CBE for services to education.

Boyd had been slowly recovering after a crash a year ago that left him and his mother badly hurt. He tried again in 2014 but lost in the primary election to Republican Don Rome. "I shattered a lot of bones, and shattered my hip, which has left me nearly unable to use that leg for now", Boyd told the Southeast Missourian in February. "[Recovery is] a very slow progress. I shattered a lot of bones, and shattered my hip, which has left me nearly unable to use that leg for now", he told the outlet in February. "It's been hard, because you can't get up on stage right now, you can't perform for the audiences and you can't really do too much recording or traveling".

"You can kind of attribute that to the fact that Neal was a pretty overweight individual and when you are that overweight, that is a challenge to your heart, but his death was attributed mainly to his heart problems", the spokesperson added.

"You never know what's going to happen next", he said.
