Lyon end talks with Liverpool over Fekir transfer

50m star to have Liverpool medical today with transfer agreed- reports

Liverpool appeared to be on the verge of signing Nabil Fekir according to French Football Federation president Noël Le Graët, who claimed the Olympique Lyon star passed a medical while on location at France's pre-World Cup training camp.

However, Lyon said on Saturday that talks about the potential transfer of their captain "had not succeeded".

Leaked photos emerged of the Lyon playmaker in a Liverpool kit and there were rumours that he had even conducted an interview with LFCTV.

The two clubs had agreed terms for a £48 million transfer, rising in add-ons, but since Friday there has been speculation that Fekir either failed a medical or the Reds wanted a second opinion on a knee injury suffered more than two years ago.

"Olympique Lyonnais confirms that the tri-party negotiations with Liverpool and Nabil Fekir for the transfer of the Lyon captain have not succeeded and that Olympique Lyonnaise have chose to put an end to the negotiations at 20:00 [CET] on Saturday night".

Warriors and Cavs Refuse to Visit White House - Katie Zehnder
Last year , President Trump disinvited Curry and the Warriors after the Golden State superstar said he wouldn't go. It's good that guys are sticking to what they believe in and what they want to do.

In contradiction to the Ligue 1 club's statement, Dave Maddock wrote: "Nabil Fekir will sign a five year contract worth around £140,000 a week, as Liverpool aim to tie up his move today". I spent a quarter of an hour with him this morning [Saturday], and his main focus is France.

Whether this represents the actual end of the pursuit of Fekir remains to be seen.

"It would be better for him, but he's not perturbed", he said of the No.10.

Fekir scored 21 goals and added nine assists in 39 appearances for Lyon last season.

"The midfielder was due to complete a medical at France's Clairefontaine training complex this morning, before his national team depart for Lyon to prepare for their final World Cup preparation game, against the US".
