'First Man': Ryan Gosling is Neil Armstrong in biopic

It was the first ever authorized biography of Neil Armstrong, and while other books had delved into his NASA missions, Fist Man was the first book to address both his early life, and his life after NASA as well. The Crown's Claire Foy plays his wife, Janet.

Ryan Gosling and Jimmy Kimmel dress up in spacesuits for an interview in outer space, well actually a soundstage in Los Angeles, for an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday (June 8). A visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost-on Armstrong and on the nation-of one of the most risky missions in history.

The film will reportedly focus on Armstrong's life from 1961-1969.

Chazelle's filmmaking talents, accompanied by Gosling and Foy's acting chops, are sure to make First Man a memorable, visceral account of one of the most iconic moments in US history - and a top contender come awards season. Speaking to another reporter, Armstrong mentioned that down on Earth you look up and don't think too much about the moon. "You're not just going to work".

"There are risks, but we have every intention of coming back".

First Man has been given an October 12 release date by Universal Pictures, which is in the midst of one of the most crowded months of the year.
