Andy Murray not yet ready to make his comeback

Judy Murray Andy gunning to get fit before grass court season

Andy Murray has postponed his return from hip surgery but the former world number one still hopes to be back in time for Wimbledon next month. The Briton has not played a tour match in nearly a year, drawing a line under his season at Wimbledon last year, where he was defending champion and world No1.

With Wimbledon fast approaching, Murray, who has slipped to 47th in the world, said he had returned to training and playing the grass-court season remained his aim. "I've been out for getting close to a year now which is a lot longer than I think me or any of my team expected at the beginning".

The tennis player, 31, who is preparing for the start of the grass court season, said that he would switch to a refillable aluminium drinking bottle.

Speaking after his defeat in Paris, the three-time Wimbledon victor was asked in the post-match press conference if he'll play on grass this year.

Meghan Makes Buckingham Palace Balcony Debut with Queen Elizabeth
The Duchess of Cambridge and Camilla , Duchess of Cornwall, traveled together in a coach as they led the Whitehall procession. Kate Middleton , the Duchess of Cambridge , immediately knelt down to comfort her then held her as the parade continued.

While pointing at Roger Federer as an obvious contender for Wimbledon he added: 'I'm hoping I will be there'. The next big goal is the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen's Club, an event he has won five times before, but he will leave any decision on that until the last minute. It has been incredibly frustrating for him and his team and you have to develop resilience.

If he has doubts still, there is precious little time to eradicate them before Wimbledon, which starts on 2 July. In a statement on the tournament's website, he said: "It is with regret that I won't be ready to play in Hertogenbosch".

Murray underwent hip surgery in Australia in January after pulling out of the Australian Open.

Murray said in a video at a promotional appearance for a auto sponsor released on Tuesday (Wednesday NZ Time) that he recently began training again after having surgery in January. I just came from the court.
