Trump notes Melania's 'little rough patch' during first joint appearance in weeks

After Wednesday's Eagles practice, reporters surrounded Malcolm Jenkins at his locker, hoping the normally outspoken captain would talk about the Super Bowl champions being denied a celebratory trip to the White House.

Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson spoke to the press Wednesday morning for the first time since President Trump disinvited the Super Bowl-winning team from a White House event.

In another statement from the White House, press secretary Sarah Sanders said the team attempted to renegotiate a visit, wasn't negotiating in good faith and the vast majority of the team had abandoned fans who wanted to attend the event.

Melania Trump was last been seen by reporters at a public event on May 10 standing alongside her husband at Joint Base Andrews as the couple greeted three Americans who had been released from prison in North Korea.

Trump has feuded with National Football League players over the past year, blasting on-field protests in which players sat or kneeled during the national anthem to protest racial bias in the USA criminal justice system amid accusations of excessive use of force against black people by police.

There was more fallout from the feud on Tuesday.

MORE: POLL: Should the President have cancelled the Eagles' visit to the White House?

The story that has dominated the headlines is the White House cancelling on the Eagles a day before the scheduled visit, accusing them of a "political stunt" by notifying the White House at the last minute that only a small contingent of players would attend.

More signs of past - and possibly present - habitability of Mars
It was to a great fanfare of publicity that researchers announced they had found evidence for past life on Mars in 1996. The organic material discovered on Mars is rich in sulphur, which would have also helped to preserve it.

Kerr took time to address those issues in a media session prior to Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

"This is going to be a blanket statement and then I'm not going to discuss it further", Pederson said.

"We remain indebted to each of them and we honour them today".

"I'm not discussing it", Pederson said.

In a video posted to Twitter by a correspondent for SVT, the Swedish national public TV broadcaster, a man, wearing a light blue button down, can be seen kneeling as the national anthem played, before clapping and ultimately coming to his feet after the song finished.

The president mentioned his wife, who went absent after undergoing a minor kidney procedure, while paying respects to people at the meeting on hurricane preparedness at FEMA's headquarters.

"I'm not going to speak for other teams", Pederson said. It's a lot of things that we believe in as Americans that we don't feel that he's for. Many of the Eagles' players either had no interest in meeting the president or wanted to discuss social issues and not just go to a photo-op that would largely entail listening to POTUS talk about how the National Football League didn't let him by the Buffalo Bills.
