Texas man bitten by severed rattlesnake head

WABCA Texas man is recovering after he was bitten by a rattlesnake that he had just decapitated

Sutcliffe says her husband quickly took his shovel and cut off the snake's head. "He had to rip it off".

The man was transported via helicopter to a hospital, where doctors said there was a chance he wouldn't make it.

"A normal person who is going to get bit is going to get two to four doses of antivenom", Sutcliffe told KIII-TV.

Although being attacked by a severed snake head seems unusual, Sean Bush, a snake expert at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University told NBC News in 2014 that it's "very common" for snake heads to still bite because it's "a last-ditch effort to survive".

A man's encounter with a rattlesnake the weekend of May 27 nearly ended his life.

Following the bite, the man started having seizures, lost his vision and suffered internal bleeding.

While Jennifer said she was scared too, she tried to stay positive. "He had to have 26 doses".

Fekir chances boosted for Liverpool as Lyon confirm Ben Arfa interest
However, Fekir has never started a competitive match for France so is unlikely to be a key player at the 2018 World Cup . But with the player reportedly insisting on leaving the club only for Liverpool, has forced Aulas' hand in the deal.

Her husband severed its head with a gardening tool.

The man is now reportedly in stable condition.

Dying from a snake bite is rare, Michael Halpert, a trauma surgeon in Corpus Christi, told KIII.

Live Science reports that for venomous snakes like cobras and rattlesnakes, biting is one of the reflexes that can be triggered in the brain even hours after the reptile dies.

If being bitten by a zombie snake isn't bad enough, it turns out that Mr. Sutcliffe's problems were only just beginning.

He also encouraged people never to suck out the venom as characters in TV shows and movies often do. "The head end of a cut-up rattlesnake can continue to function, including the venom glands, for a long time afterwards and, in fact, the other half continues to work".
