Ethical polluting agent: The toxic embarassment of Scott Pruitt

Congressional Quarterly CQ-Roll Call Group

"The subject of that phone call was an expression of interest in his wife becoming a Chick-fil-A franchisee", company representative Carrie Kurlander told The Washington Post via email.

Sarah Greenwalt, who served as Scott Pruitt's top attorney in both Oklahoma and at the Environmental Protection Agency, has resigned from the EPA and will return to Oklahoma.

When The Atlantic's Elaina Plott reached out for comment from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - you know, the government organization Pruitt is running like his own personal bingo hall - EPA spokesperson Jahan Wilcox told Plott, "You have a great day, you're a piece of trash".

Pruitt also faced backlash after a letter to GOP Representative Trey Goudy of SC, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, showed the EPA administrator told an aide to buy an old mattress from Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C.

"Knowing Scott Pruitt, I think he will do a good job", Hatch said. The focus of almost a dozen federal inquiries into his travel expenses, security practices and other issues, Pruitt was on the Hill to testify about his agency's FY2019 budget proposal.

"I want to thank Administrator Pruitt for the opportunity to journey with him over the past six years, and I will always admire his visionary leadership and tenacity", Greenwalt said in a statement.

Trump notes Melania's 'little rough patch' during first joint appearance in weeks
It's a lot of things that we believe in as Americans that we don't feel that he's for. There was more fallout from the feud on Tuesday.

Pruitt a year ago had his scheduler request a meeting with Chick-fil-A chief executive Dan Cathy to discuss "a potential business opportunity", which turned out to be an opportunity for Pruitt's wife, Marlyn, to open a restaurant in the popular fast-food chain.

Federal ethics codes prohibit having staffers conduct personal errands and bar officials from using their position for private gain.

A former EPA official told the outlet that Pruitt prefers food from the high-end grocery store Dean & Deluca and that his favorite snacks include Greek yogurt as well as cookies and other candies.

"EPA is doing really, really well". Even though he was turned down, Pruitt gave them raises anyway. "Somebody has to say that about you a little bit, you know that, Scott". On the other hand, you may not remember that Pruitt also spent around $1,560 of taxpayer money on 12 fancy fountain pens, and roughly the same amount on fancy journals.

In appearances before congressional panels since then, Pruitt has repeatedly blamed subordinates for his alleged ethical lapses.
