LeBron James: Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn't accept White House invite

President Donald Trump points to members of the media as he arrives on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington Friday

LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers reacts against the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the 2018 NBA Finals at ORACLE Arena on June 3, 2018 in Oakland, California.

"It's typical of him", James said of Trump's decision to disinvite the Eagles due to their stance on protesting the national anthem.

"It's typical of him, I'm not surprised..." I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyway.

James and the Cavaliers are now down 0-2 in their best-of-seven series against the Golden State Warriors.

Warriors players indicated after winning the championship in 2017 that they would not go to the White House, then as they were set to meet as a team to formally decide, Trump rescinded the invitation. "A similar (G) oogle search will show you how many great things the players on this team are doing and continue to do on a daily basis".

"There is a level of patronizing. from this White House and from others. that somehow African-Americans are ungrateful, that we somehow don't know what this country is about", Jones said.

"It's not surprising hearing the news today with the Eagles". Pretty sure the way we handled things past year, we'd stay consistent with that. The last National Basketball Association team to attend the White House visit was the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, when Barack Obama was still president.

"President Trump leads on so many things but on this one he's not leading..."

"People in Philadelphia shouldn't let this news take away from what that team did".

"It will be nice when we can just get back to normal in three years".

Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins says NFL players who have been speaking out politically are fighting for racial and social equality, not disparaging the national anthem.

James defended Curry after Trump blamed him for the disinvitation, tweeting: "U bum".

"The president decided, the number he focused on is the number of Eagles fans who had already been waived in and secured here to come to the White House".
