Flash Flood Watch for the Midlands

With all of the rain accumulating on the Grand Strand lately, parts of the area are under a flash flood watch and river levels are even expected to rise in Conway.

As a reminder, NEVER drive through flood waters.

Authorities say conditions are especially risky with flooding rains coming overnight and on a holiday weekend when people may have outdoor plans.

Repeated rounds of strong thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall through this evening.

No injuries have been reported. Central Putnam County in northeastern Florida.* Until 900 PM EDT.* At 704 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms.

Some Baltimore County roads also have been flooded.

Some residents of Ellicott City told The Baltimore Sun the flooding appeared to be worse than the 2016 flooding that killed two people and destroyed local businesses.

Ellicott City, just west of Baltimore, is consistently ranked among the best places to live in America by Money magazine.
