Vitamins, mineral supplements placebos

A new study suggests that three of the most popular vitamins and supplements provide no consistent health benefits nor do they cause harm

Many popular multivitamin supplements have no impact on health. The study also mentioned that it is only folic acid and B-vitamins that may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Jenkins concludes that there is a small positive data on multivitamins, "apart from folic acid's potential reduction in the risk of stroke and heart disease".

Per a Forbes report, most of the vitamin and mineral supplements analyzed by researchers had no measurable benefit on a person's health. There was many follow up studies of the vitamin role with wast majority of them reinforced the thesis.

"The latest research of vitamins and heart disease risk is neither unexpected nor surprising", he said in a statement. The study suggests that there may be short-term health benefits of these supplements at times when the body is going through some inflammation but over extended periods of time, the effects diminish as our body learns to adapt. A meta-analysis printed yesterday (May 28) appeared through all of the randomized studies from January 2012 to October 2017 on multivitamins, some mix pills which have a couple of vitamins such as calcium and vitamin D, and their link to heart disease. "They are not intended for cardiovascular disease prevention, so we shouldn't expect the data to demonstrate otherwise".

With the findings showing that there are actually no added advantages to artificial supplements, the best choice may still be balanced, nutritious meals.

Zidane quits as Real Madrid manager
He told Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez , that he would be leaving on Wednesday before informing the players.

In general, the study suggests that people should not rely or focus on dietary supplements. But they do not do anything notable and make no difference. According to Fabricant, as many as 80% of Americans do not meet their daily nutrient requirements, while more than 50% of children don't get enough vitamin D and vitamin E. Finally, over 25% of American children don't get enough calcium, magnesium, or vitamin A.

"The problem with our diet is that we have too much saturated fat, too much salt and too much sugar and yet when people think Oh Dear, Maybe my diet is not good enough - I'll take a supplement, they are not addressing those real problems".

They said the best way to look after the heart is a healthy diet. Multivitamins, vitamins C and D, and calcium don't help prevent heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, or even premature death.

For example, zinc has been linked to shortening the effects of a cold (vitamin C doesn't do this, despite people thinking it does.) Vitamin D can also be hard to get from your food, so if you're deficient, supplements may also be effective.

Yet more people would benefit by changing their diet to account for these nutrients than by taking supplements, the authors wrote.
