Man's rant at workers speaking Spanish goes viral

A restaurant worker tries to explain to customer who delivered a strongly-worded tirade over workers speaking Spanish

The restaurant's manager, Emily Serrano, told NBC4 that she and another employee, who are bilingual, were speaking in Spanish when the yelling began. "Every person I listen to-he's speaking it, she's speaking it".

A man said he'd call ICE on two women working at a restaurant because they spoke Spanish.

As the meltdown continues, someone in the background interrupts him and calls him ignorant.

After other customers laugh at his antics and taunt him, with one telling him he's "fucked up", the angry man becomes even angrier.

Instead, his fellow customers laughed at his rant, especially his threat to report the restaurant to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

My guess is, they're not documented. If they have the balls to come here and live off my money-I pay for their welfare. "I pay for their welfare. The least they can do, the least they can do is speak English".

Whitney Houston Documentary Shocks Audience at Cannes With Child Abuse Revelation
Houston was sexually abused as a toddler by a Dionne Warwick's youthful sister, relations have claimed in a brand new documentary. Whitney , which is directed by the Scottish film-maker Kevin Macdonald , premiered at the Cannes film festival on Thursday.

As a reference, only 51 percent of New Yorkers actually speak English at home, according to a 2012 WNYC report. The man then walked out. To whoever is recording him, he says, "Honey, I'm calling ICE!". She responded, "Maybe you should get hit by a auto!" She said she called police for a public disturbance during the incident, but the man left the scene. A 2011-2015 Census American Community Survey also projects Spanish speakers to be 25%, at 1.93 million.

"What a big man talking down to couple of women and a helpless employee", he posted. "I wish someone tells me I can't speak in my native language!"

Last year, Thomas D. Homan, the acting director ICE, warned anyone living in the country illegally that they were deportable: "You should look over your shoulder", he said.

The video was posted to Facebook by Edward Suazo.

Newsweek reached out to Suazo and Fresh Kitchen for comment but did not hear back in time for publication. At the office of the firm identified on social media, an administrator firmly asked a reporter to leave because it was private property.

"Aaron Schlossberg" was the fifth ranked trending topic on Twitter in the NY area Wednesday evening. Mayor Bill de Blasio also tweeted his thoughts on the incident.
