MI5 chief: United Kingdom and European Union intelligence sharing 'never more important'

Andrew Parker Director General of MI5 will launch a scathing verbal assault on Russia during a speech in Berlin when he addresses European security chiefs

The UK, as Europe's preeminent intelligence power, is seeking a new security pact with the bloc to ensure it gets continued access to secrets from major European Union countries as it seeks to clinch a broader Brexit deal.

"In today's uncertain world we need that shared strength more than ever", he will tell his audience in Berlin, according to a draft", the draft reads.

He warned that the threat from Islamic State - which he referred to as Daesh - would continue.

He warned that Islamic state will seek to make "destructive" and "more sophisticated" terrorist attack in Europe after the loss of territories in the middle East.

Next Tuesday the United Kingdom will mark one year since the Manchester Arena bombing, which killed 22 people attending a concert.

Police officers lay flowers in honor of the victims of the March 22 terror attack on the Westminster Bridge by the Houses of Parliament in central London on March 23, 2017. The incident left one man dead.

"The reckless attempted assassination of Sergei Skripal, using a highly lethal nerve agent, put numerous lives at risk, including that of his daughter", Parker said Monday, accusing the Kremlin of "flagrant breaches of worldwide rules".

The track unseats a 15-week reign at the top of the chart from Drake's latest singles, "Nice For What" and " God's Plan ". He also stars as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming " Star Wars " film, " Solo: A Star Wars Story".

He will describe the Counter Terrorism Group as the "largest multinational counter-terrorism enterprise in the world" where "real-time intelligence sharing" involves "thousands of exchanges on advanced secure networks every week".

Mr Parker will, however, praise the global response to the incident in his speech at today's event, hosted by Germany's BfV domestic intelligence service.

They also cited the nerve agent attack against a former Russian spy in Britain this year that Britain has blamed on Russia.

Russia has denied any involvement in the attack and has challenged Britain to reveal evidence to back up its claim that the Russian state was behind it.

He also accused Russian Federation of "flagrant breaches" of global rules, and criticised its invasion of Crimea and alleged interference in Western elections.

Mr Parker will say the attack was "deliberate and targeted malign activity" and will condemn what MI5 describes as the "unprecedented" levels of disinformation by Russian Federation following the attempted murder, highlighting the need "to shine a light through the fog of lies, half-truths and obfuscation that pours out of their propaganda machine".
